It's the story many of us have probably heard before, the story of how God came down to Earth as a man, named Jesus, to save us from hell.  "But why do we need saving in the first place" you may ask, the answer is sin.  If a person has ever lied, stolen or used God's name as a curse word, they would be guilty of sin.  Now there may be some people that believe that this isn't a big deal, that God may have not seen their sin.  The problem is that He has seen your sin (because God sees everything), and that the punishment for sin is death, so ya it's a big deal.

Depressed yet?  Well you don't have to be, because this is where the Gospel (which means good news) comes in to play.  Knowing that man couldn't do it alone, God sent his Son (Jesus) down to Earth to save us by taking our punishment for us.  By suffering and dying on the cross, a death He didn't deserve, Jesus paid the price for our sin and we are forgiven of any crime we have committed. This is a gift from God that is available to anyone who chooses to accept/believe Jesus is their personal Lord and Savior, and thus be willing to turn form their sin (which is repentance).  God promises eternal life to all to choose to follow Jesus, but for those who choose not to are promised nothing but judgment and punishment for eternity (ie hell).  No one can go to Heaven and gain salvation by any means except through Jesus (John 14:6-7)

"But why Jesus, how do you know He's even real?"  This is one of the many questions that may come up when talking about this.  Sadly, I can't give you a piece of paper with some fancy equation on it, point to it and say "Bam, proof".  But I can share with you a very big miracle that has occurred in my parents' life.     A while ago my mother got very sick, the doctors had no idea what she had, but they were guessing she had pancreatic cancer and was going to die.  So my dad went around and asked all of his friends to pray for her health.  A couple of days later my mother was lying in bed and commented that she felt this warm feeling in her feet.  This continued for couple of hours, the warmth moving upward until the feeling left.  Her next doctor visit she was completely healed, leaving the doctors amazed.  This kind of thing doesn't just happen, and I personally believe that is was the work of a loving God and is one of the many miracles that shows God is real and with us.

Now someone may ask "how do you know God even cares about us, why does He care about how we live or whether we love Him or not?"  The answer to these questions can be found in the Bible.  First off, I believe God cares about us because He says He does.  In the past, God has never lied to us and I believe that He never will; the bible even says that God never lies (Titus 1:1-3).  I also believe that God cares whether we love Him or not is because He is jealous for us, because He is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14).  He cares about people so much that He wants to be part of every aspect of our lives, not wanting to play second to anything or anyone.  I don't believe God is watching our lives anxiously waiting for a good reason to send us to hell, but rather watching over us, waiting for us to accept and believe in Him.  God wants to save us and give us a future, wanting no one to be sent to hell (Jeremiah 29:11 and 1 Timothy 2:4 and 2 Peter 3:9).  God loves you, and wants to be a part of your life.  He will forgive our sins if only we turn from our sin and believe in Jesus.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin". (Exodus 34:6-7)

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.(Romans 5:8)
This is my Testimony about Jesus Christ. I am not here to start a flame war or try and guilty trip anyone. I really just wanted to try and spread the love of Christ. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them, but please try and keep from swearing.
